Lots of Flowers

This dress reminds me of a field of flowers. Not a light airy field of soft pinks, yellows, and ivorys. But a field none the less.

I love the blue with red flowers. And the black with white and green flowers :)

That was the easy part....

I'm in the process of making this dress. This is just the base, with a basic top, band and skirt... Now all I have to do is cover the entire skirt in those squares of fabric folded into diamonds :) It is gunna be pretty :)

Soooo.... What does a girl when she has 12 random pink roses made of fabric?

I haven't posted anything recently because I took a break from being creative and instead focused on school for a while. Which is good, but boring!

New Stuff

So... I was waiting until I got my new mannequin to take pictures of some of the new stuff I've been working on, but it is just taking a ridiculously long time to come. Plus, I have this lovely mannequin to use (much better then my old one). The only bummer is that I can't use it to design, but its great for pictures! Please enjoy :)

Anyway, I have a final of sorts where I need to express my vision of the perfect world for girls in an artistic form.
So.... I chose design!
I am attempting to make pants!
I made pants before for my Halloween costume, but they were less then extraordinary to put it nicely.
So I'm giving it a second shot with a pair of classy high waisted, very fashionable, tailored pants.
And this time I'm using a pattern, then altering it because the pattern is kinda ugly.
But it gives me a pretty good idea on how to make them.
I will keep you updated! :)
Oh, and I made a couple new headbands.
I like the red one!

First Dress

Yesterday I posted the second dress I've made, but not the first.
I couldn't get it on the mannequin, so I just tied it. :)

This dress is actually for one of my friends, and when she comes over for a fitting, I will put on the straps.
I absolutely love it!

Oh Dang!

I have only one thing to say, and that is oh dang!
I have made, not ONE, but TWO dresses this week.
And,by itself its pretty cool, but these were the first two dresses I have made EVER!!!
Plus I have filled up my completed headbands drawer!

I am very happy (if you can't already tell)!
The first dress I made is just way to beautiful to be displayed on my crappy mannequin.
I mean really, how is anyone supposed to work on that hunk o' junk.

Plus, I can't get the dress to fit over the shoulders. : /
The second dress has a stretchy waist so it does fit over it! Yayyyy!!!!

I have decided to call this dress the 'Oh Dang!' dress.
The belt is actually one I bought from H&M.

It Might As Well Be Spring

I made this headband this morning, and think I think its really dainty.

It reminds me of spring in this cold winter season :)

I really can't wait for spring to come!

I'm sick and tired of the cold.

I think I have spring fever a little early this year.

Yellow Roses

Roses are my favorite flowers and yellow roses happen to be my favorite type of rose.
Sooooo I made this pretty orange headband and stiched these small yellow roses onto it.
It's one of my favorites. :)

Flower Girl

I made this headband, and I gotta say, its pretty beautiful.

I bought flowers (fake, of course) and glued the on like mad!

There are over a hundred flowers on this!

So pretty, and so much fun!

2011

It's 2011.

Finally!

Well technically it was 2011 8 days ago, but whatever.

Happy New Year + 8 days.

What does this mean for fashion? I'm predicting that we're going to start seeing long skirts, earthy colors, and neutrals with more neutrals. I think Gretchen Jones (winner of Project Runway) had the right idea with her wining collection. It was very earthy and cool looking. Even though I REALLY wanted Mondo to win, I believe Gretchen's designs were more fashion forward. Speaking of Project Runway, I can't wait for it to start again! I love how it speaks to young designers, letting them know that you can make it in the fashion industry if you really want to.

Last year my new years resolution was to be a vegetarian, and I'm sticking to it this year. I used to think new years resolutions were kind of stupid, but they're just so fun to make! This year my new years resolution is to buy a dress form. I think I really need one if I'm going to start making more complex pieces. So here I go, saving up for one. The hard part about saving money is trying not to spend it. If your only saving for one thing a jar works just fine, but then that jar is always there. Everyday, just begging you to spend it on something you probably don't need. Willpower is important when it comes to new year resolutions.

Oh So Slowly

Oh so slowly more and more people are reading my blog.

And let me tell you, it is addicting to look at the stats that tell me how many people are reading it.

Slowly, slowly I have more and more numbers popping up everyday.

A month ago only one person a day was looking at my posts, and I have a hunch it might have been me looking from different servers.

Now I have 50 people looking everyday.

So keep reading citizens of the world!
